NYC's technical-gas pioneer
By the shop's own account, Stingray Divers was the first — and is still one of the only — dive shops offering Nitrox, Trimix and Argon fills in New York City. For local divers that means no schlepping cylinders out of the city to get technical gas.

Which gas, and why
- Air — the everyday fill for recreational diving.
- Nitrox (enriched air) — more oxygen, less nitrogen: typically longer no-decompression times on repetitive dives. Requires enriched-air training.
- Trimix — helium blends for deep and technical diving, where air stops being the right tool. For trained technical divers.
- Argon — a drysuit-inflation gas prized by cold-water divers for its insulating properties.
